We support young people to plan and engage in a range of activities. Activities provide unique opportunities for personal and social development. We deliver both recreational and social activities as well as those designed to challenge and develop young people, widen horizons and build confidence and self-esteem.

High Rope
Beamish High Ropes Course, aimed at challenging the young people to tackle their fears, was a great day out. The young people took part in a tree top ropes course, and were challenged at all times.

In 2015 the Young People along with our Youth Workers, Staff and Trustee did a sponsored walk alone the Hadrian’s Wall Path which crosses the scenic craggy escarpment of the Whin Sill (third image above) in Northumberland, see in the images above (first) a Youth Worker and Trustee explaining about the historic site of Housesteads to the Young People on their walk passed followed (second image) by a group walking along the wall then third the Whin Sill in a quarry with the wall above and finally the young people taking a little light refreshment. A sponsored walk from Cockermouth to Keswick in the Lake District was one of the challenges that the young people faced in 2013 with image of the group of young people youth Worker and trustee as they start the walk, taking shelter at lunch time and pushing on through the rain.
